Equestrian Facilities

We have second-to-none equestrian facilities which we make available to guests on a self-help basis, just like being at a DIY livery.

The stables are spacious and airy, and the riding-out is wonderful. Two separate bridleways are accessed directly from Manor Farm and it is therefore possible for ride for miles and miles straight from the door without coming across any main roads.

Within the yard we have 6 stables, an indoor and an outdoor manege (both full size) and equipped with jumps. The indoor manege has a Martin Collins surface and lights for use in the evenings.

We also have a number of post-and-rail paddocks for turning-out, and there is ample parking for boxes and trailers.

We provide chopped-straw bedding for the stables and guests have access to the barrows, rakes, forks that they need on a shared basis if there are other horses staying here at the time. But, unless specifically agreed, we don’t provide hay, straw or feed since we find that most guests prefer to bring their own.

There are also a number of local instructors who are available for activities like dressage. And there are local riders living in the village who will often be willing to show you some of the local rides.

We are very lucky to have such unrestricted access directly onto public rights of way that surround Teffont and this part of Wiltshire and Dorset. Guests will also find that there is an active equestrian community in and around Teffont, with two local hunts.

We encourage our guests to be as considerate and courteous as possible to other people enjoying the countryside and to other land-owners, especially during the shooting season.

Recreation Facilities

We have a snooker room, games room and gym. All the recreational facilities at Manor Farm are shared and we hope that guests all co-operate to ensure that everyone gets to use them as they wish.

Accessibility Guide

At Manor Farm we aim to make everyone’s stay as enjoyable as possible. We are committed to providing suitable access for our guests consistent with the fact that all of the acccommodation and facilities are in historic listed buildings which limits our ability to make many changes to structure.

We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to book the right accommodation for your specific requirements.

Level Access. Due to the limitations imposed by the historic structure of the buildings at Manor Farm there is currently level access to only the ground floor of the Dovecot (living spaces and one en-suite bedroom) and Stable Cottage (kitchen, boot room and utility room) and the ground floor of the Garret (utility room). The main living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms of both Stable Cottage and the Garret are located almost entirely on the first floor. Both require the use of stairs in order to access the first floor.

Wheelchair Users. The Dovecot has level access throughout the ground floor of the property which includes one bedroom, bathroom/wet-room, kitchen and living areas inside and out. It is designed to be accessible to guests with limited mobility including wheelchair users.

All doors in the Garret and Stable Cottage are standard width (726mm) as a minimum. The Dovecot’s ground-floor door are a minimum of 900mm wide.

Bedrooms. We offer the option to replace those with hypo-allergenic bedding for those requiring it.

Hearing. The TVs have the facility for subtitles.

Visual. Visitor information can be provided on request in an easy-read format. Doors and walls have distinctive feels. Stairs are all equipped with stairgates as an option.
